CROW RIVER WINERY
AND VINEYARDS
Winemaking process
Crow River Winery grows grapes in five different vineyards throughout Hutchinson. The first vines went in the ground in 2006 at Box Elder Vineyard. In keeping with Minnesota’s history and heritage, they raise Minnesota Cold Climate grapes. There are currently eight different red and white varietals raised to make up the different wines offered in the tasting room. When the grapes begin to ripen and harvest rolls around all the grapes are handpicked and hauled over to the crush pad at the winery. The winemaker takes the bunches of grapes and starts the winemaking process the day they are harvested. Less than a year later the wine is bottled and ready to be cherished.
